February 10, 2022 Published by

Nashville is one of the fastest-growing cities in the United States, and with its unique and diverse neighborhoods, it is an ideal location for families to call home. The city offers a vast array of family-friendly parks, museums, and attractions, so there’s always a new adventure to explore. If you are looking for some of the top family-friendly things to do in Nashville, you can’t go wrong with any of these outings.

Grand Ole Opry and Backstage Tour

Stand on the very stage where your country music idols perform! On this tour, guests get to experience a live radio concert, tour the Ryman Auditorium’s backstage areas, explore dressing rooms used by the stars, and learn about the Opry’s fascinating history. At only 45 minutes long, the concert is a top family-friendly activity for music-lovers of all ages.

Country Music Hall of Fame

Nashville is known as Music City and is famous for its contributions to country music. At the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, it’s all things country music. With detailed exhibits, a scavenger hunt, and a recording studio, the museum is a fun place for families to explore the history and evolution of country music.

Frist Art Museum

It’s never too early to expose your children to the fine arts. The Frist Art Museum has a variety of excellent exhibits and welcomes families with an assortment of programs and resources for children. Kids can explore sketching, building, watercolor painting, and animation, among other artistic activities. The Martin ArtQuest Gallery is specifically dedicated to providing visitors of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities with the opportunity to experience hands-on activities and creativity.

Adventure Science Center

Science and learning are an exciting adventure at this great Nashville attraction for curious minds. In the TinkerLab, kids can create, build, and take their creations home. They also happen to love the noise-making slide in the Bodyquest Exhibit and will burn some energy climbing their way to the top of the 75-foot, interactive Adventure Tower.

Centennial Park and the Parthenon

Centennial Park is on the outskirts of Nashville, but it is a large and luscious park that anyone can appreciate. The Parthenon, located right inside Centennial Park, is a fascinating replica of the original Greek Parthenon, complete with a 24-foot statue of Athena.

Nashville Zoo

The Nashville Zoo is an obvious choice for animal lovers. The zoo is home to over 340 different animal species, so there’s always something fun to see. Kids will especially enjoy petting kangaroos at the Kangaroo Kickabout, touching tortoises at Shell Station, climbing Jungle Gym, or taking a ride on the Wild Animal Carousel and the Wilderness Express Train.

Treetop Adventure Park

Adventure seekers will love Treetop Adventure Park, located in the beautiful woods of Nashville Shores Lakeside Resort. There are multiple courses for all ages, including obstacles like suspension bridges, Tarzan swings, zip lines, cargo nets, and more. This is a thrilling outing the whole family can enjoy.

Nashville Shores Waterpark

More outdoor fun can be found at the city’s largest waterpark, Nashville Shores Waterpark. There are all levels of adventure with a giant wave pool, eight exciting water slides, and the Kowabunga Beach treehouse and playground. Families can also relax in the lazy river or on the beach, as the waterpark is right on the shores of Percy Priest Lake.

Customer Testimonials

Capitol Homes was able to give us the look we wanted without exceeding our budget. Our friends who have built custom homes told us to expect to go over budget by 10 to 20 percent … I say that they should have chosen David Luecke and Capitol Homes. Capitol completed our new home under budget and gave us more than we expected.Todd Kornblit
